In Loving Memory of Yvon Omer Bernard, passed away on March 1, 2023.  Son of the late Lucien Bernard and Jacqueline (nee Jacob).

Husband of the late Bernice Bernard (nee Robin).  He will be missed by his brother Denis, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Gabriel, Patrice, Jean-Louis and Lisette.

Will be lovingly missed by his kids Marc (Sylvie Manser), Luc (Christine Watt), Diane Villeneuve (Randy) and Monique Theriault (Gilles).  Dear Pépére of Corey, Kyle, Kevin, Dustin, Chloé, Jacob, Cody and Tillie.  Loving grandfather to Olivier, Zoé, Zavier, Matéo and Loïk. 

Yvon was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 60 years. He was a very competitive man in any sport events, but especially when he played cards.  Yvon played a lot of sports in his younger days, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer and curling.  Proud member of the Church Choir for many years.  In his earlier years Yvon was a musician, he had his own band and always continued to play music throughout his life. For everyone that knew him well would know that Yvon had a dry sense of humor which will be missed.  He enjoyed driving around the village a couple of times a day to see what was going on and to wave at everyone he knew, I am certain that Yvon made his final wave as he left us on his way to heaven.  

Relatives and friends are welcome to visit on Saturday March 4, 2023 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at the Smooth Rock Falls Church Hall.

The funeral mass will be held at the Ste-Gertrude Church on Saturday March 4, 2023 at 11 am officiated by Father Jean Morin. A reception will follow at the church basement, and he will be laid to rest with his wife at the Smooth Rock Falls cemetery in spring 2023.

Entouré de l’amour de sa famille, c’est avec une grande tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès d’Yvon, survenu le mardi 1er mars 2023 à l’hôpital de Smooth Rock Falls, à l’âge de 82 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Marc (Sylvie Manser), Luc (Christine Watt), Diane Villeneuve (Randy) et Monique Theriault (Gilles).  Cher Pépére de Corey, Kyle, Kevin, Dustin, Chloé, Jacob, Cody,  Tillie et cher arrière-grand-père d’Olivier, Zoé, Zavier, Matéo et Loïk.

Yvon laisse aussi dans le deuil son frère Denis et ainsi que ses neveux, nièces, autres parents et amis.

Il est allé rejoindre son épouse Bernice (née Robin) Bernard, ses parents Lucien et Jacqueline (née Jacob) Bernard et ses frères Gabriel, Patrice, Jean-Louis et sa sœur Lisette.

Yvon a été membre des Chevaliers de Colomb pendant plus de 60 ans. C'était un homme très compétitif dans tous les événements sportifs, mais surtout quand il jouait aux cartes. Yvon a pratiqué beaucoup de sports dans sa jeunesse, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer et curling. Fier membre de la chorale de l'église depuis de nombreuses années. Yvon était musicien, il avait son propre groupe et a toujours continué à jouer de la musique tout au long de sa vie. Ceux qui le connaissaient bien savaient qu'Yvon avait un sens de l'humour sec qui nous manquera. Il aimait faire le tour du village plusieurs fois par jour pour voir ce qui se passait et faire signe à tous ceux qu'il connaissait, je suis certain qu'Yvon a fait son dernier signe en nous quittant sur le chemin du paradis.

La famille accueillera parents et amis à la salle de l’Église Ste-Gertrude le samedi 4 mars 2023 à compter de 9h30. Les funérailles suivront à 11h à l’Église Ste-Gertrude, 48 Hollywood Ave de Smooth Rock Falls.
Une réception suivra à la salle de l’église.
