C’est avec grande tristesse que la famille annonce le décès de René, le lundi 29 août 2022, à l’âge de 87 ans, à l’Hôpital de Smooth Rock Falls. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Irène (née Hachey) et ses enfants Yvon (Colleen Nisbet), Ghislain (Sonia), Madeleine et Edith (Peter Vigna).

René était le grand-père bien-aimé de Laura (Ben), René Robert, Mia, Daphné, Marco, Bianca et arrière-grand-père de Bronson et Lydia.

Il laisse aussi dans le deuil, ses sœurs Yolande Derzai, Lydia (Wesley) Szyjka, son frère Vincent Gravel et ainsi que ses belles-sœurs Marguerite Gravel, Albertine Gravel et plusieurs nièces et neveux.

Il fut prédécédé par ses parents Lorenzo et Antoinette Gravel, ses sœurs Julienne et Hermine, ses frères Lucien, Réal, Julien et ses beaux-frères Yvon Aubé et Mathew Derzai.

La famille souhaite remercier l’hôpital de Smooth Rock Falls pour les bons soins prodigués.

La famille recevra parents et amis le jeudi 1er septembre 2022 à la salle de l’Église Ste- Gertrude à partir de 9h30 à 10h45.

Le service funéraire aura lieu à l'Église Ste-Gertrude, le jeudi 1er septembre à 11h célébré par le Révérend Père Jean Morin.

Les dons commémoratifs à l’Hôpital de Smooth Rock Falls seraient grandement appréciés.

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of René at Smooth Rock Falls Hospital on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the age of 87 years. He leaves in mourning his wife Irène (née Hachey) and his children Yvon (Colleen Nisbet), Ghislain (Sonia), Madeleine and Edith (Peter Vigna).

René was the beloved grandfather of Laura (Ben), René Robert, Mia, Daphné, Marco, Bianca and great-grandfather of Bronson and Lydia.

He also leaves in mourning his sisters: Yolande Derzai, Lydia (Wesley) Szyjka, his brother Vincent Gravel and also his sisters-in-law Marguerite Gravel, Albertine Gravel and many nieces and nephews.

René is predeceased by his parents Lorenzo and Antoinette Gravel, his sisters Julienne, Hermine, his brothers Lucien, Réal, Julien and his brothers-in-law Yvon Aubé and Mathew Derzai.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at the Ste-Gertrude Church in Smooth Rock Falls.

The funeral service will be on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Ste-Gertrude Church with Father Jean Morin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
