November 30, 1938 ~ January 14, 2020  

The family announces the unexpected passing of Mary at the Lady Minto Hospital on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the age of 81. She leaves behind her
husband Helmut, her children Karin Ucke (Mike Ghassabpour), Monika Ucke Malherbe (Roger), Anita Ucke (Sheila James), her beloved grandchildren Matthew, Mitchell, Jillian, Erika, Sean, Gregory and Alexander.  

She is survived by her sister Morag Offredi (Pete), brothers Alan Johnston (Norma) and Jimmy Johnston (Nancy).

She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Mary was predeceased by her parents James David Johnston and Annie Margaret Johnston (nee Carlyle), her brothers Chris Johnston, Ian Johnston and David Johnston.

Mary was born at the Mill Farm in Kirkkunzeon, Scotland and she made Cochrane her home in 1965.

Family & friends are welcome to visit on Friday, January 17, 2020 7 pm to 9 pm and also on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 9:30 to 11 am followed by the funeral with Father Richard Fortin officiating at the Génier Gauthier Funeral Home, 70 Seventh Ave South, Cochrane. 

The interment will be held at the Génier Cemetery in the spring.
