The family is sad to announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Luoma (nee Hansen). She passed away peacefully at the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital, a few days before her 87th birthday.

Betty is survived by four children, Ellen (Brian) Catherwood, Douglas (Karen) Luoma, Raymond (Charlotte) Luoma, and Pam (John) Dallaire. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Derek (Lianne) Catherwood, Ashton (Elora) Catherwood, Jarrett Luoma, and Joshua Arnold, and three great grandsons, Max, Matteo and Maverick Catherwood.

Betty was beset with serious health issues during her long life, but she dealt with them with grace. She had a love of music and enjoyed playing the piano until her sight failed.

As per Betty’s wishes she will be cremated and interred in the columbarium at the Smooth Rock Falls cemetery. There will be no service at this time.
