In loving memory of

Mr. Vianney E.J. “VINCE” Cloutier

January 28th, 1936 – October 5th, 2018

With great sorrow his family announces his sudden passing on Friday October 5th, 2018 at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane at the age of 82. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Carm Cloutier (nee Aquino), his cherished daughters Lynne (Mark) Marwick, Carol Cloutier, Donna Cloutier and Diane (David) Wilbur, and his much-loved grandchildren Meagan, Kayla, Jordan, Ryan, Lauryn and Tara. He was the brother of Jeannette (Alcide) Matte, Claudia (Florian) Génier, Yvonne Fortin, Feriol (late Gilberte Cloutier), Evelyn deBlois (Dick), Yollande (Léo) Roy, Roger Cloutier, Lucien (Micheline) Cloutier, Lise (Jean-Guy) Lafontaine, Michel (Carole) Cloutier and Micheline (Georges) Verner. Vince also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also predeceased by his father Émile Cloutier, his mother Noella Boisvert, his sisters Helene and Pauline and his brothers Henri and Albert.

Vince will be fondly remembered for his devotion toward his community.   He was the recipient of a lifetime achievement award for his 48 years with the Cochrane Lion’s Club. He was also awarded the Judge Brian Stevenson Fellowship for his contributions to CNIB.

Music was a focal point of his life, self taught on many musical instruments. He was the ultimate guitar hero.  He could “trip the light fantastic” on the dance floor and his golf swing was par for the course. If he wasn’t at the bowling alley, it was likely Wednesday night and he was playing cards with buddies. 

The most important aspect of his life was his family.  He was  proud of his French Canadian heritage and always made time for family.  For that, he considered himself a rich man. 

Visitation will be held on Friday October 12th, 2018 from 7pm to 9 pm at the Genier Gauthier Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday October 13th, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Transfiguration Church followed by a light lunch downstairs of the church hall. 

A special thank you to the nursing staff of the Lady Minto Hospital and to Dr.  Rita Affleck for her years of continued care and kindness.  Thank you to Ms. Cindy Meaden and Ms. Nicole Cloutier who provided comfort to the family in his final hours.

C’est avec une profonde tristesse que sa famille vous annonce son décès survenu le vendredi 5 octobre 2018 à l’hôpital Lady Minto de Cochrane, à l’âge de 82 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil sa tendre épouse Carm Cloutier (nee Aquino), ses filles adorées Lynne (Mark) Marwick, Carol Cloutier, Donna Cloutier et Diane (David) Wilbur ainsi que ses petits-enfants chéris Meagan, Kayla, Jordan, Ryan, Lauryn et Tara. Il était le frère de Jeannette (Alcide) Matte, Claudia (Florian) Génier, Yvonne Fortin, Feriol (feu Gilberte Cloutier), Evelyn deBlois (Dick), Yollande (Léo) Roy, Roger Cloutier, Lucien (Micheline) Cloutier, Lise (Jean-Guy) Lafontaine, Michel (Carole) Cloutier et Micheline (Georges) Verner. Vince laisse également plusieurs neveux et nièces, autres parents et amis. Il est allé rejoindre son père Émile Cloutier, sa mère Noella Boisvert, ses sœurs Helene et Pauline et ses frères Henri et Albert.

On se souviendra de Vince pour sa grande dévotion à sa communauté.  Il a reçu un prix d'excellence pour ses 48 ans au sein du Club Lion de Cochrane. Il a également reçu la bourse du juge Brian Stevenson pour ses contributions au CNIB.

La musique était un point central de sa vie, autodidacte sur de nombreux instruments de musique. Il était le guitar hero ultime. Il avait la magie d’illuminer un plancher de danse et son élan de golf était exact à chaque parcours. S'il n'était pas au bowling, c'était probablement mercredi soir et il jouait aux cartes avec des amis.

L'aspect le plus important de sa vie était sa famille. Il était fier de son héritage franco-canadien et avait toujours du temps pour sa famille. Pour cela, il se considérait comme un homme riche.

La famille accueillera parents et amis à la maison funéraire Génier Gauthier, 70, 7e Ave, Cochrane, le vendredi 12 octobre 2018 de 19h à 21h. Les funérailles auront lieu le samedi 13 octobre 2018 à 10h30 à l’Église Transfiguration de Cochrane suivi d’un léger gouter dans le sous-sol de l'église.

Un merci spécial aux infirmières de l’hôpital Lady Minto, au Dre Rita Affleck pour toutes ses années de soins continus et de gentillesse. Merci à Mme Cindy Meaden et à Mme Nicole Cloutier qui ont su réconforté toute la famille dans ses dernières heures.
