Mr. Lucien "LOU" Girard

January 22, 1945 – January 31, 2024

With great sorrow his family announces his passing on Wednesday January 31st, 2024 at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane at the age of 79. He was the son of the late Raphaël (Léo) Girard and the late Marie-Rose Tousignant. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of over 56 years Betty Girard (nee Anderson), his children Keith Girard and Natalie (Martin) Ayotte, grandchildren Émilie, Kruz, Miguel and Kain. Lou was the brother of late Edgar (late Lucille) Girard, late Fernand (Emma) Girard, late Albert (Jeannine) Girard, late Lina (late Nick) Nichols, Conrad (late Anita) Girard, Lauré (Huguette) Girard, late Denis-Paul (late Jeannine) Girard, André (Mariette) Girard, and late baby Mariette. He was the brother-in-law of Gary Anderson (Rosa), Shirley (late Denis) Leonard and late Alice Anderson. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends are welcome to pay their respects at Génier Gauthier Funeral Home, 70 Seventh Avenue South, Cochrane on Friday February 9th, 2024 between 2 and 5 pm. A Luncheon will follow at the Richelieu Hall. His ashes will be laid to rest later in the spring at the Cochrane Catholic Cemetery Columbarium.
